Student Spotlight: Will Bone

This week's student spotlight is Will Bone, a senior at Hughes Springs High School. Will is the son of Jeff and Dawn Bone.

Will is very active in school and the community. He is a member of the Varsity Football Team, National Honors Society Treasurer, Spanish Club Secretary, Secretary of the Seniors Class and is a Section Letter and Parliamentarian of the HSH Band and Choir Quartermaster. He is also a member of the Daingerfield Church of Christ Youth Group.

Will's favorite subject is history. He says that he has always been fascinated by things that happened in the past and says you can't prepare for the future without know where you have been.

Mrs. Brittany Thomasson is the teacher that Will says has had the most impact on him thus far. He says she puts in extra effort to help him understand the material she has taught. He says that Mrs. Thomasson always made sure that he fully comprehended the lesson and knew the material, rather than just teaching him the information for a test.

Will says the best thing about being a student at HSISD is that he gets to represent the best high school in northeast Texas. Will's motto is "It's a great day to be alive, a senior and a Mustang!"

Upon graduation in May, Will plans to attend either Abilene Christian University or Harding University. He hopes to one day have his Masters in Business Administration. He says he may try to be a walk-on for his college's football team and plans to come back to HSISD as often as possible to visit his friends.

Will was nominated by Mrs. Heather McGregor who says "Will is one of our most outstanding Mustangs! His character is impeccable - he can always be relied upon to do the right thing. He fully represents the Mustang spirit - hard working and goal driven."

Congratulations Will! We are so proud to have you as a student at Hughes Springs ISD!
