Student Spotlight: Shawn Pope

This week's student spotlight is Shawn Pope. Shawn is a 5th grader at Hughes Springs Elementary School and is the son of Shawn and Jennifer Pope.

Shawn is involved in the Multi-Cultural Program, UIL Social Studies and the Flag Brigade at Hughes Springs Elementary.

Shawn's favorite subject is Writing because he loves to write fictional stories. He says that Mrs. Kelly Jenkins is the teacher that has had the most impact on him thus far. He says that he loves the way Mrs. Jenkins makes science fun and she is really nice.

Shawn says the best thing about being a student at Hughes Springs ISD is that it is a small district so he knows a bunch of people and he gets to be involved in a lot of fun activities.

In the future, Shawn wants to attend the University of Texas and play football and baseball.

Shawn was nominated by his teachers for being such an awesome young man.

Congratulations Shawn! We are so proud to have you as a student at Hughes Springs ISD!
